ForceDo – A To Do list that forces you to get things done

ForceDo is a unique web 2.0 website that keeps track of your tasks.  Sure, there are a lot of websites and tools that keep track of things todo, but ForceDo starts a timer and produces sounds that encourage you throughout your task.  This tool is useful for people who spend a lot of time on the internet.  As I zoned out writing this post, ForceDo’s “Go Go Go!” sound returned my focus to my goal…finishing this blog post.  It has a simple interface that is very easy to use and it provides a useful service.

I am unsure how ForceDo will make any money.  They currently have no ads and do not charge for any of their services.  It seems that ForceDo is a “Ready, Fire, Aim” company that is getting trying to get a customer base before it decides on how it will make money.  I would like to see more features, such as syncing with Outlook Tasks and other task software.  Overall, ForceDo has a lot of potential as soon as they establish their customer base and figure out away to monetize its service.

Got Girl Power? Ashley Qualls, Whateverlife.com's 17 year-ol CEO does.

ashley 300x198 Got Girl Power? Ashley Qualls, Whateverlife.com's 17 year ol CEO does.At 14 years old, Ashley Qualls created a site to show-off her design work. “I was the dorky girl who was into HTML,” she said in an interview with Fast Company magaine. It attracted zero interest beyond her circle of friends until she figured out how to customize MySpace pages. So many classmates asked her to design theirs that she began posting layouts on her site daily, several at first, then dozens.  The site now recieves 531.1K visitors a month and is making almost $200 a day in adds revenue.

Although Ashley was flattered to be offered $1.5 million and a car of her choice–as long as the price tag wasn’t more than $100,000–she responded, in effect, Whatever. :) “I don’t even have my license yet,” I’m doing what everyone says they want to do, “live like there’s no tomorrow.” –Ashley in her blog, “The Daily Life of a Simple Kind of Gal,” July 1, 2006; 2:43 a.m

“Because Creative Doesn’t Take the Day Off”, Whateverlife.com provides MySpace page designs and attracts a few hundred thousand girls a day. Ashley started the website with $8 and now at age 19, her site grosses more than $1 million a year.  The amazing part is…the website is just downright ugly.  Flashing animation, glittering colors, and a navagation system that will make your head spin.  But hey, Forbes Magazine, Fast Money, and the advertisers beating down Ashley’s virtual door don’t seem to mind. Advertisers are practically drooling over the possibility of reaching a target market demographic of preteen girls who shop at Hollister and read Cosmo magazine.

Whateverlife.com baffles the norms.  A young girl from a working class family graces the pages of the top Entrepreneurial publications in the US with an idea to reach an unmet demand.    A headache of a website with 7 million visitors a year.  Who would have thought?  I wish I would have…

Newegg

We all have these fabulous gcc computers well for not much money thanks to a site named newegg you can buy more ram for these computers which makes them run much better. I know some are fond of tigerdirect but my dealings with newegg have been much better. I have also consistently found better deals with newegg over tiger direct. I spent a little bit over 30 dollars and was able to upgrade my laptop to 2 gigs of ram which has made a world of difference in the performance of our tc4200′s. Customer service is an important fact for any company to have and i have had great success with this company.

Tirerack

I love this site i have used it for probably close to a decade now. It brings the conveniences of being at the actual tire store to you virtually. The amount of money i have saved over the years using tirerack has easily paid for the mount and balances that you must take care of yourself.

The best feature of the site is that it will make recommendations for you on tires depending on your driving criteria etc. Tire rack has never steered my family wrong when it came to buying tires they definitely are tire experts. The nice thing is when you go to buy wheels you can actually see the wheels on your car before you purchase it through their very handy application on their site.

They were the first site of this type i remember and although there are sites like theres out there i still always resort back to tirerack.
