Simplicity is Key

As long as I can remember, I’ve been playing with computers. I’m sure many people under the age of 25 can say the same thing. Our technological age is growing at an increasingly faster and faster rate everyday. And with every new advance, comes a new level of complexity. Many technologically based companies and initiatives that are currently on the internet are rather complex. In order to appeal to the masses, the masses must be able to understand it.

Keeping it simple allows not only the lay person but also the experienced programmer to use a specific site, tool, or gadget - whatever that may be. This concept can really be expanded outside the world of internet sites and webtools to include any type of technological advancement. Infact, the tangible things that we use everyday are probably what need to stay the simplest. New advances like the IPad aren’t really nessecary and only serve to complicate life. Sure, its a cool invention and a great use of technology, but if Apple really wants to make a new product that can contribute to society, shouldn’t they concentrate on a device everyone can use and afford?

Web Rallies Ensue NHRA Death

The National Hot Rod Association Nationals were going smoothly in Chandler, Arizona, until Antron Brown crashed in the first round of eliminations on Sunday.

Brown was racing Troy Buff until his left rear tire separated from the car and he quickly lost control of the vehicle. He crossed the center lane and slammed into the retaining wall creating a massive fireball.

Miraculously Brown was not injured in the horrific crash, but one female spectator was struck by a piece of debris that flew into the crowd and airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment. The Gila River Police Department announced that the woman eventually died from the injury.

With all of the technology that they have in these cars and vast amounts of money that they have invested into these facilities it amazes me that officials never thought this one out. After this story broke online just minutes after it actually happened, there were immediately thousands of people who gathered together on the web protesting for safer conditions for spectators at these events.

Sometimes I sheepishly Google my name to see if something cool comes up.  The few times which I have been noted in an article or for sports, they sometimes come up on Google.. and I feel special.

YouTube is a place to belong, and the silly videos or happenings of my life can be posted via Google and YouTube for all the world to see.  Here is a video which features yours truly making a fool of himself:

YouTube is a spot for me online.  In the vast world of all the important people, YouTube, one of the most successful websites ever, has a reserved place for me.  Through the thousands of clips placed on YouTube, I do not feel overwhelmed or intimidated.  They have found a way to be a big corporation while maintaining a personal tact.
