How to Devour Internet Video

While watching funny or interesting internet videos is not a problem that I have, finding new good video content is.  While I had heard of Devour before, I have never used it consistently until recently.  It really is quite amazing, and the simplicity and cleanliness of the site is a welcome change from YouTube and other user-generated video sites.

What Devour does is assemble all of the most popular and highest quality videos every weekday.  I mentioned also that it was a well-groomed site. That’s because most of the videos are in HD and there are no “comments.”  This allows the videos to speak for themselves and lets us enjoy them without the musings of everyone on YouTube.

Microfinance: Charity Redefined

While an old topic within the world of social justice, microfinance has erupted with organizations like Hope International and Kiva as a way to end poverty in a sustainable manner.  The old adage “teach a man to fish, and he will eat for a lifetime” rings true with this means of ministering to the poor.

Both of these organizations fill a large void in the giving community as people are becoming more and more wary of giving to charities where there are organizational overhead costs.  Kiva and Hope both allow clients to decide exactly how their money will be used.  People can spread the love of Christ by giving to individuals.  Making disciples of all nations, our Christ-given command, has never been easier as we can now interact with and minister to the poorest in the world.

The Perfect Workout Playlist

Have you ever gone out for a run and realized that you were keeping step to the music?  Studies show that listening to music during exercise improves performance both because it motivates and distracts from fatigue.  Why not find songs that fit your pace so you can stay in step with your desired split-times?

Jog.fm is a site that seeks to do that.  The site is quite simple to use.  On the homepage, there is an option to browse popular workout music that is categorized by its tempo.
