Social Media Marketing is a quickly growing field that is being appreciated more and more by businesses around the world. Utilizing social media platforms to promote your business is more important now than ever. Unfortunately, for most business owners, they are not sure exactly how to use social media in this way. This semester myself, Gray MacKenzie, Andrew Dymski, and Brandon Jones created this company as a way to help businesses and Non-profits achieve their goals on the web. Whether that is through educational consulting or website development, GuavaBox is there to help them succeed on the internet.

Facebook may be the largest social media platform in the world, but LinkedIn may be the most valuable. LinkedIn is considered to be the “professional” version of Facebook. Users create profiles, but these profiles have more of an emphasis on personal achievement and skill sets. LinkedIn provides a way for people to make personal business connections and apply for jobs. It is the world’s best way to network online. Professionals can make personal recommendations and apply for jobs using connections on the site. It allows users to share their personal expertise with the world. This can be a huge help to college students who are looking to find a job out of college.

• Selection of videos on home page is less compact

Youtube

Pros

• Most well-known video platform online
• Large volume of videos on all different topics
• Easier to share videos with other platforms

Cons

• Recent upsurge in ‘censoring’ the music/sound of videos
• Quality of videos is diluted because of the large amount of content

Conclusion: Youtube is clearly the larger platform. On the other hand Vimeo gives off a more professional feel.

Blogging for money became a hot topic in the early middle 2000’s. The thought of writing a blog and getting readers to view your material while you make money seemed easy enough. But how feasible is it to make a decent amount of money blogging? In reality, fairly difficult.

Google created its Google Adsense program to make it easier to display ads on your site. It is simple, free and easy, but you need a lot of clicks to make hardly anything. Google Adsense is a decent starting spot, but if you really want to make money it needs to be from a company paying for an ad spot or a broker selling one for you. Pay per click isn’t nearly as profitable as selling ad space. The key is, create a site that generates a lot of traffic, then try and use your impressive Analytics data to sell ad space for top dollar.
