Now that our Commander in Chief is rocking the white house, why shouldn’t we have a little window into his daily life. Isn’t transparency something we’ve always wanted from our government? Of course, Barrack Obama would have a Twitter profile! He’s on facebook and myspace so why not twitter too?

This is a small part of one of the most effective campaign strategies in history. The Barrack Obama campaign has made a point to penetrate every aspect of social media (especially when its geared toward the youth). When television, radio, and internet advertisements wouldn’t do it, the Obama-manics made sure to cover all of their online bases as well. Utilizing the newest internet applications, the Obama campaign has unveiled the power of internet communication.

Twitter, as pointless as many people believe it to be, is an application with a strong following. To put it simply, Twitter reaches people in mass numbers and thats exactly what Obama needed to secure his victory. The resourcefulness of internet applications has certainly changed the way that politicians will campaign in the future.

  1. I never realized how much Twitter and Facebook has grown. It affects culture and society as a whole, and they both dominate how people view the world today. Obama is lucky to have a Twitter to be on his side!
