I have to be honest…I have never understood the purpose of blogging before this class. I never thought that I would have been able to come up with things to say that would be deemed interesting to my classmates. While I am sure that none of my blog posts were actually that interesting, I have learned that blogging is not just about “writing” blog posts but about the community experience that blogging creates. This community relationship is not just in this setting, where it is peers conversing through a blog, but in the business world as well.
As a consumer wouldn’t it be nice to feel like a company cared enough to provide a way to interact with its consumers? Blogs can accomplish this, through blogging a company can communicate with its customers in a way that is easy to use and in a way that is easy to provie information through. Not only would this blogging atmosphere be beneficial to consumers it would also be helpful to the company itself. Through a blog they can gather feedback on their products, if the company has established a healthy blogging relationship with their consumers – they might find that feedback via blogging might provide more response then through a survey sent through the mail.
Overall I am glad that through taking this class I am beginning to understand why blogging is such a valuable tool in the business world.

We are a different class of college students every Spring. Together we explore what it means to do business in a "Web 2.0" world. Technology, new businesses, cutting-edge trends, we cover them all!
