Negative comments, reviews, and posts about companies would appear to hurt companies, but actually it is the reverse. Many managers and CEO’s are hesitant to allow customers to post comments or rate their products or services. Studies show, however, that often times companies get high reviews and ratings on their products, or that they get more traffic on their site because there is a level of honesty and transparency about the product. Not only do other viewers appreciate what previous buyers have to say, but the manager can take feedback and make appropriate changes or address the problems. So online feedback is really nothing to be feared, but it should be embraced by managers and used to their advantage and to enhance their service or products.
