Creative Commons provides a place for people to share their creativity with others online to whatever extent they desire. Working as a complement to copyrights, Creative Commons allows users to share all rights, some rights, or no rights.
Sharing is always a nice thing to do. It generally makes you happy, others happy, and is good for society overall. But what about in business? Sharing is pretty much giving stuff away for free, which typically doesn’t make money very well. We are all aware of what sharing has done to the recording industry.
However, some businesses look at sharing in a different light. Sharing can be seen as a little tasty morsel that brings in the consumers who hope to get the whole meal. For example, by sharing an mp3, music artists can sell the concert and by sharing the pdf, the creator can sell the lecture.
So, sharing is not only a nice thing to do, but it could actually lead to larger profit.

We are a different class of college students every Spring. Together we explore what it means to do business in a "Web 2.0" world. Technology, new businesses, cutting-edge trends, we cover them all!
