Before entering Internet Entrepreneurship, I was your typical college student who had a profile on Facebook and used it a couple of times per day without ever thinking about the web of business ideas that embark on it daily. Maybe this was because I am a Math Secondary Ed. Major and attempt to find a job in other means, but in reality I realized that its not good to be naïve on the social networking opportunities right before your eyes!
After reading blogs about how Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn were started, funded, managed, used advertising, and created successful job opportunities I began to think about social networking in a new light. It is not something to just find out how people are doing, but can be used to actually find a job!
Not only have my eyes been opened to seeing the networks online, but my ears are open when I hear about these networks on the radio or television. Before understanding and trying out LinkedIn or Twitter I probably would have not even really heard talk show hosts say the names of the networks; however, after I have been exposed to them I can relate to the topics and understand their worth.
Overall, I have found social networking skills to be the most beneficial tools I have researched this semester, and who knows maybe one day I won’t want to teach and I can try one of these networks or some sort of new technology that is worth exploring!

Katie i canot agree more with how you summed up social networks. I heard about them but wasnt really sure what they were or how useful they could be.
