I’m not going to lie, one of the first things I did when I got on my computer was log onto Facebook. Why is it that we as a society are so addicted to this device? It’s because we love two things… ourselves and dumb distractions.
People spend hours a day on Facebook. Looking at Jenny’s pictures to see what she was up to this weekend, or checking on Joe’s relationship status to see if he broke up with his girlfriend yet. Why do we as a society want to plaster our personal experiences all over the internet? Because we think people are dumb enough to care… and they do! I’m not going to say that I haven’t wasted many an hour stalking through Facebook, but really what’s this all about??? The concept of Facebook is golden, catch up with friends and have a place to share ideas and funny thoughts with people. But it seems as if we have taken it to a new unadulterated extreme. I don’t think Facebook should or will shut down anytime soon. But it would be ideal if we could all calm down a bit, and use it less liberally. Then Facebok can get back to its pure state of comradery.
