Entrepreneurship incorporates traditional business curriculum, but it focuses on aspects that relate to creating a new business. But why not become a more traditional business management student? Because I have a strong self-initiative and long-term vision and most importantly love to take risks. Entrepreneurship emphasizes leadership skills that can be used to motivate people in a growing business environment.
The type of student that strives for this major has to be ready for constant change and adaptability. Entrepreneurship relies on the ability to change adapt to market conditions. When I came to this school I had a basic idea of what I was going to be learning and to this point it has been about what I expected, with one exception. I had no idea how crucial the proper use of the internet is to any business.
Entrepreneurs need to make an effort to develop new approaches in business. This involves staying ahead of emerging trends by innovating and challenging existing products. Internet marketing and social media are now the way that nearly every business needs to be heavily involved in for success. The internet provides the best way to connect with customers, communicate with prospects and extended to a global reach. The possibilities that the internet and social media extend to a company is endless and you will be a fool not to exploit those opportunities in today’s world.
